2-Week Photo Challenges!

2-Week Photo Challenges

Due dates:  10/13, 10/27, 11/10, 11/30

For the months of October and November you will be responsible for completing one photo challenge independently every two weeks. You must pick a different challenge each time, in any order, and post according to instructions below. You will turn in 4 photo challenges total.

NOTE: These challenges are done independently from what we cover in class!

Objectives:

  • To become more proficient and familiar with the photographic process.
  • To express yourself visually and to demonstrate your observational and technical skills.
  • To practice camera angles, camera settings, elements of art, and rules of composition.

Photo Taking Instructions:

  • You can use your smartphone or a DSLR camera. Some challenges might require certain settings, so you’ll need a DSLR for those.
  • Take at least 15 photos for each challenge. Save ALL your photos to your OneDrive.
  • Use your free time to take the photos. You must be caught up with all your assignments if you want to take photos during our class period.
  • Select the best 3 photos you captured for a challenge to edit in Lightroom.

Posting Instructions:

  • Create a blog post titled: 2-Week Photo Challenge for [include the due date here]
  • Save a copy of the challenge to post along with your 3 edited photos in a gallery. Don’t forget to change your link to media file! See examples below.

  • Finally, post a second gallery with ALL 15+ photos you took for that challenge (including the edited ones but in original form).
