Digital Collage Part 2

Take a look at this PowerPoint with various types of collages, techniques, composition, and ideas:  All About Collages

Create a blog post that answers the following questions:

1. Was the anything in the “All About Collages” PowerPoint that you found interesting or that inspired you in any way?  Explain.
2. What are some ideas you have for your digital collage so far?
3. Are there any themes you want to concentrate on?
4. Is there a look, aesthetic, technique, feeling, or social issue you want to incorporate into your collage?
5. What would you want viewers to think or feel when they see your collage?

Feel free to add any collages or screenshots from the PowerPoint as a gallery to this post to use as visual reference later.

In addition, maybe make a list of words that come to mind (brainstorm) for your collage (pretty, natural, vintage, modern, geometric, weird, scary, intricate, chaotic, organized, empowerment, culture, history, etc.). Consider this post your brainstorming/planning post that you can add to.

Digital Collage Part 3

Begin collecting images to use on your collage! Create a folder in your OneDrive titled, “Digital Collage” and save images in there.

You can save photos from the Internet as well as incorporate your own photos. 

(Besides Google Images, I also like using free stock photos from sites like pexels.com but last time I checked that site was blocked on campus for students. See if it’s blocked from your school laptop at home. If so, you can use your phone to save the photos to your camera roll and then to your OneDrive.)

Clone Project

Because of the wind, we will have to postpone the deadline for it until the end of the month. You can photograph on the days with milder winds and I recommend you work with a partner so they can help keep the tripod steady. I will continue to check out cameras and tripods overnight for those who want to take their clone photos at home. Don’t forget, you can also use your phones to take the photos as long as you figure out how to keep your phone completely steady for each photo.

Macro Photography Gallery Walk (Virtual Style)

You will need to leave comments on 3 students from your class period plus 1 from another class period of your choice.  Use the snipping tool to take a screen shot of your 4 comments to turn in on Teams.

Due by the end of the period tomorrow 2/3/22.

Log into your Edublogs.org account and go to your Dashboard.

Click on Dashboard and then on Reader.

Locate the Search My Feed box and type in “macro” into the search bar and click Go.

To view and comment, click on “Read More” and there you’ll be able to scroll through their photos and leave a comment.

If the Reader is not loading their macro photos to view:

Copy their user name & paste into a new tab. Add “.edublogs.org” after their user & hit enter.  If it asks for a password to view their site it is “photo”. 

Locate their Macro blog post, click it to view, and leave your comments. Don’t forget to screenshot the comment with the Snipping Tool to turn in later when you’re all done!

Here is what you will need to comment:

1. Which of their 10 photos do you like the most and why.
2. Which photo needs the most improvement and how.
3. Tell them what you think of their project overall.

Cloning Project

Due: Tuesday Feb 8th

Objective: Use Photoshop layer masks to create a clone composite of yourself!

What you need:

• DSLR camera
• tripod
• you (and maybe a partner)
• Photoshop
• a plan…

Steps to making a plan:

Determine the exact location of your shoot.  What exact location on campus will you use and why?

If you use your phone to take photos off-campus, what can you use as a tripod to keep each shot the same?

What will each of your clones be doing in the scene?  What will you wear?  How will you look? Is there a story or are you just gonna stand there looking cute? Lol.

Steps to taking the photos:

1. First, take photos of your location to figure out your exposure and settings.
2. Place camera on a tripod.  If working on your own, set the camera timer to 10 seconds.
3. Once you take the first photo, you cannot move the camera from its spot AT ALL.  If the camera or tripod moves, you’ll have to start over. Continue taking photos of yourself doing different things within your scene.  This is where you get creative!
   

   Note: It is easier if you don’t overlap into an area you already stood in.  It’s okay if you do, it will just take a little more Photoshop work if you do overlap.

4. Take a total of 4 or more photos of yourself in your chosen location/scene.
