Friday 10/29/21: Spooky Story Share Out

Today I would like to for everyone to share either their spooky story idea or at least share a hint about your story or the imagery you have/will capture!

If you still need ideas, perhaps the class can help you out!

Friday 10/29/21: Ghost Gallery Walk

Today’s Agenda:

  • Ghost Gallery Walk
  • Complete Past Due Assignments
  • Coming up next week: Rules of Composition in Photography

Ghost Gallery Walk

Go to your blog and click on your light painting and ghost blog post.

We’ll walk around to take a look at what everyone created.  Feel free to stop at a computer to click and enlarge a photo for better viewing.  Then click the back button so it goes back to the blog post before you proceed.

We won’t leave any feedback today, we just want to appreciate each other’s work and efforts. 🙂

Tip:  Before we begin, edit your blog post and make sure your photos have been changed to media file!  I would also make sure they are displayed as individual images and not as a gallery so they naturally appear larger on your blog post.

Video: How to change settings for long exposures on Manual Mode

Part 1:

With a partner or group of three, practice creating light painting/light graffiti using long exposures anywhere from 10-30 seconds long.  Use a tripod!

Make sure your camera is on Manual mode (M).

Use ISO 100 and high F-stop numbers.

*You’ll probably need to use manual focus (MF) on the lens to focus the photos yourself when photographing in the dark.*

Use your cell phone flashlight as your light drawing source.

Take turns.  Save all the photos you like onto your OneDrive.

Part 2:

With a partner or group of three, practice creating ghost effects using long exposures anywhere from 1-10 seconds long. Use a tripod!

Make sure your camera is on Manual mode (M).

Use ISO 100 and high F-stop numbers.

Take turns. Save all the photos you like onto your OneDrive.

Part 3:

Edit at least one light painting photo and one ghost photo using Photoshop. Export as JPEG files and post to your blog.  Include the camera settings (MASIF) in the captions!!
